Job description

Job Summary:
Assists Executive Steward with all aspects of the operation of the Stewarding department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Yes, supervises Stewards and Night Cleaners.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Incumbent performs administrative duties that include, but not limited to ordering of supplies, materials, equipment; taking supply, material, and equipment inventory; verbal and written communication to Executive Steward, other Supervisors and staff regarding issues or changes in cleaning schedule, set-ups, staff changes, amount of time required to perform a task, set-up or breakdown, or when problem situations arise; incumbent is also required to fill out accident or incident report forms.
  • Other responsibilities include assistance in scheduling of shifts, reviewing time sheets and the ability to make independent decisions regarding staffing levels and shift coverage.
  • Maintains and cleans the kitchen during the shift.
  • Maintain cleaning standards in all areas.
  • Works Hands-On when necessary, leads by example.
  • Executes special cleaning assignments.
  • To support all kitchen team members & the Executive Steward to ensure that kitchen hygiene & cleanliness meets & where possible exceeds standards.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 year+ plus years' experience supervising in a commercial food service operation or similar operation.
  • Reliable self-starter with an open mind and a positive attitude.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
  • Gaming license/registration as required by the Virginia Lottery Board.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Pays particular attention to quality and details.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others regardless of their skills or background.
  • Demonstrates the ability to establish credibility and rapport with others.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and working at a table.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays.
  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust
