The Boeing Company is looking for a Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Networks manager to join the Boeing AvionX team in Plano, Texas.
We develop, and support the production and servicing of avionics line replaceable units (LRUs) for Boeing commercial and military aerospace platforms. Our SEIT Networks manager leads a large, multi-project team focused controls, networks and displays LRUs. The team is primarily located in Plano, Texas with colleagues in other US and International locations. The manager is responsible for talent management, processes and tools used by the workforce, and integrated product team execution (cost, schedule, risk/opportunity). The manager is required to be full-time on-site.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Talent Management (hire, manage, deploy develop, and motivate employees) to perform Systems Engineering of Networks, Controls and Displays projects. 20+ direct reports plus US and International staff on matrix assignment to SEIT IPTs.
  • SEIT IPT project management (cost, schedule, risk/opportunity) of multiple concurrent projects including estimation, baselining and baseline change control, status and financial reporting. Assigns, develops and manages SEIT IPT leads.
  • Develop, train and improve technical processes and tools utilized in SEIT statement of work related to avionics HW and SW development compliant with DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP-4754.
  • Engineering technical safety and quality advisor to workforce, project Chief Engineers, and engineering and program Executives

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training and work experience
  • 8+ years of experience do you have in systems engineering (requirements definition, allocation, architecture design, trade design and verification)
  • Technically knowledgeable of commercial airplane cabin systems and/or displays products and associated technologies, or similar military products/technologies, and their development and certification
  • Experience with talent management (hire, manage, deploy develop, and motivate employees) of SEIT workforce
  • Experience with managing a local and geographically distributed SEIT team in successful execution of SEIT SOW within development projects leading into production and support services.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Demonstrated ability to engage collaboratively with management, technical fellows, teammates, suppliers, and customers while upholding high quality and safety standards
  • Familiar with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, and ARP-4754 hardware and software development tools, processes and standards.
  • Experienced in Project management: Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Cost and schedule baselining. Risk/Opportunities management. Earned Value Management (EVM), including developing Quantifiable Backup Data (QBD) and Control Account Management (CAM)
  • Experience developing proposals, including budget estimation and a resource loaded schedule.
