Job description

Position Summary
The Clinical Systems Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing support of the assigned clinical information systems throughout the health system. Serves as liaison between the Information Services Department and assigned departments in the Healthcare System.
Primary Position Responsibilities
  1. Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of assigned clinical information systems in coordination with IT staff and the vendor(s) as necessary
  2. Provides level 1 application support of assigned clinical systems to ensure business and operational needs throughout the organization
  3. Assists in the documentation of requirements and coordinators performance analysis new or enhanced systems to meet clinical or operational needs including gap analysis and regulatory compliance
  4. Coordinates the work of interdepartmental teams responsible for the assigned tasks or projects and facilitates communication between groups to identify system needs, modification, and/or issues.
  5. Demonstrates overall understanding of clinical documentation and workflow needs
  6. Shares off-hour on call responsibility to maintain the assigned clinical systems
  7. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred:
Associates Degree Computer Science or Healthcare related field
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
1 year of clinical or healthcare related experience
Preferred:
2 years of experience in healthcare information system and technology or related clinical practice
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
None
Preferred:
Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
General knowledge of clinical healthcare information system applications, servers, personal computers, and networks.
Preferred:
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
General knowledge of project management and change management principles.
Ability to collaborate, facilitate teams, and foster consensus on process issues; desire to work with people; exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship skills.
Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
