Job description

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Quality Systems Specialist to join a leading Company located in the Brea, CA surrounding area.

Salary: $80,000 - $105,000

The Quality Systems Specialist works with management and staff to ensure that the organization's quality systems are effectively implemented and maintained. The Quality Systems Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's quality management systems in compliance with ISO 17020, ISO 17025, and ISO 17065 standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for the integrity and efficacy of the Conformity Assessment Group's quality systems, including test labs and surveillance quality systems.
  • Ensure the company's quality management systems remain compliant with ISO 17020, ISO 17025, and ISO 17065 standards.
  • Develop and maintain quality-system manuals, standard operating procedures, and other essential documents.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance of operations with the documented quality systems.
  • Provide reports to the President and management on the performance of the quality systems.
  • Establish records on internal deficiencies and their resolution.
  • Resolve complaints from outside sources.
  • Collect and analyze information on client satisfaction, utilizing the results to promote, throughout the organization, a sensitivity to client requirements.
  • Maintain Conformity Assessment Group, including test labs and surveillance accreditations, and coordinate activities as necessary with accreditation bodies.
  • Travel as necessary for accreditation activities and to ensure smooth operation of the quality systems throughout the organization.
  • Perform other tasks as may be directed by the Conformity Assessment Group Presidents or Sr. VP, Quality System.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Completion of ISO 9001 training/internal auditing course given by a nationally recognized training organization (or equivalent knowledge/experience).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems, including the creation and maintenance of quality documentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020 (latest versions) and accreditation requirements for various Conformity Assessment Group programs.
  • Certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to prepare and present clear and concise written and oral reports.
  • Ability to facilitate efficient and effective assessments of quality systems.
  • Ability to train and lead staff in activities related to the quality systems, and in the preparation and presentation of written materials.
  • Familiarity with the International Family of Codes and relevant test standards and Acceptance Criteria is desired.
