Position OpportunityWe are seeking a Category Insights Data Analyst to support Sales and Brand teams by transforming syndicated and customer data into actionable insights. This role will focus on category performance, shopper behavior, and competitive trends across our food portfolio.This position is well-suited for an analyst who is strong in syndicated data and reporting, with opportunities to grow into more advanced analytics and automation over time. Senior-level experience is welcome, but not required.Key Responsibilities
  • R Analyze syndicated data sources including Nielsen, Numerator, Technomic, Datassential, and other third-party data providers to assess category trends, brand performance, pricing, promotions, and distribution.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and standard reports to support Sales and Leadership decision-making.
  • Translate data into clear insights and recommendations to support:
  • Category growth strategies
  • Brand and innovation planning
  • Retail customer presentations and line reviews
  • Promotional and pricing decisions
  • Partner with Sales, Category Management, and Brand teams to support customer-specific insights and recurring reporting needs.
  • Monitor competitive activity, emerging trends, and shopper behaviors across channels (grocery, mass, club, convenience, and e-commerce).
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in reporting and analysis.
  • Support ad hoc analyses related to assortment optimization, innovation, renovation, and brand development initiatives.
  • Automation & Efficiency Skills
  • Support efforts to streamline and standardize reporting workflows, reducing manual data pulls and repetitive analysis.
  • Assist in automating Power BI data refreshes, report distribution, and recurring dashboards where applicable.
  • Help build and maintain reusable reporting templates, datasets, and scorecards to improve efficiency and scalability across the organization.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve data processes, tools, and reporting effectiveness.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in category insights, analytics, or a related role within food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI for reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Experience working with syndicated data platforms such as Nielsen and Numerator.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Power BI experience, including data modeling, DAX, or complex dashboard development.
  • Experience working with Walmart data, including Scintilla Charter.
  • Familiarity with additional syndicated or industry data sources such as Technomic, Datassential, Circana/IRI, SPINS, or retailer POS systems.
  • Experience supporting retail sales teams, customer presentations, or category reviews.
  • Background in food, beverage, or consumer goods categories.
