Job Description
As a Surveillance Supervisor at Harrah's Joliet, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for protecting the integrity of casino operations through covert monitoring and advanced surveillance technology. You'll oversee all areas of the property, detecting and documenting suspicious activity while ensuring full compliance with gaming regulations. This role is perfect for a driven, detail-oriented leader ready to make a real impact in a fast-paced, exciting environment.
HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY
  • Serves as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation, and open communication.
  • Provides direction and support for all staff to achieve Harrah's Joliet goals and objectives through the fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Strives to improve and streamline departmental operations, through the continuous assessment of policies and procedures, work processes and program effectiveness/value.
  • Endorses the business objectives, ethics and values of Harrah's Entertainment Inc.
  • Provides appropriate recognition and rewards to individuals and groups when consistent superior performance is attained.
  • Responsible for the clandestine surveillance of the entire property including all front of house and back of house areas, parking garages, and external property.
  • Responsible for clandestine surveillance of the operations and conduct of the table games.
  • Provides clandestine surveillance of the operations of the slot machines and operations of the cashier's cage.
  • Audio/video recording of activities in the count rooms.
  • Detects cheating, theft, embezzlement and other illegal activities in the casino, count rooms, hotel, restaurants and cashier's cage.
  • The video recording of illegal and unusual activities monitored.
  • Any individual employed in these positions must sign an acknowledgment of regulatory requirements prior to being employed in the Surveillance Department.
  • Responsible for notification of appropriate supervisors and the IGB upon detection and recording of cheating, theft, embezzlement or other illegal activities.
  • Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same.
  • Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of two years supervisory experience in casino surveillance is preferred.
  • Must have expert knowledge of all table games and the ability to identify methods of cheating and/or other irregular activities.
  • Must have working knowledge of Digital Recording Systems and related equipment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lifts up to a maximum of 10 lbs. and/or carries objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in areas containing high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Position requires 5% standing, 85% sitting, 10% walking.
  • Requires some bending, kneeling and reaching overhead.
  • Must be able to respond to touch, speech, aural and visual cues.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant internal and external customer contact.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
