Job description

What Will You Do?

The Operations Director will be responsible for executing the day-to-day operations and logistics of Project 26's campaign. This senior-level position will report to (interim) Executive Director and ensure staff and organizers have the resources and support needed to succeed. The Operations Director will focus on implementing logistical systems, managing office operations, coordinating supplies and vendors, and supporting scheduling and payroll processes, including:

Office & Infrastructure Management

  • Secure and manage campaign offices, including lease negotiations and utility setup/maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inventory and supply audits; consolidate resources for HQ and organizing teams.
  • Distribute resources for organizing and HQ teams.

Logistics & Vendor Coordination

  • Order and distribute supplies, merchandise, and materials for the organizing program.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, surrogates, and stunts; acquire permits as needed.
  • Researching policies and logistics of vendors and venues for stunts and specific organizing team activities.
  • Coordinate staff travel and regularly facilitate senior staff scheduling.

Hiring & Onboarding

  • Oversee processes to ensure all staff have completed sexual harassment and DEI trainings.
  • Facilitate staff onboarding and offboarding.
  • Conduct pre-screening of all applicants during the hiring process.

Scheduling & Payroll

  • Build and maintain staff and fellow schedules in Connecteam.
  • Process hours for fellows and oversee payroll processes including that all hours are approved, all expenses are approved, etc by set timelines.

Budgeting & Event Support

  • Create budgets for action-specific events and activities (e.g., Welcome Week, NVRD, GOTV, Staff Training).
  • Maintain budget guidelines while still fulfilling expectations- researching multiple options, presenting proposals, etc.
  • Manage onsite advance for medium to large-scale events, surrogates, etc.

Design & Materials

  • Design and produce campaign materials, including stickers, half sheets, handouts, swag, and other print collateral.
  • Coordinate with vendors on printing and meeting campaign timelines.

Additional Operations Duties

  • Provide occasional assistance with designing and delivering staff training.
  • Assist with quality control for voter registration activities.
  • Act as liaison to Optimize.
  • Complete select IT tasks as Google Account administrator.
  • Maintain and manage the team to IT security standards for all full-time staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the campaign.

Who Are You?

A successful candidate for this role will:

  • Have 2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, or administrative support.
  • 2+ cycles of campaign experience (can include volunteer or intern experience), ideally in an operations role
  • Enjoy building and maintaining systems, processes, and spreadsheets, with strong attention to detail.
  • Bring strong organizational and logistical skills, including managing supplies, schedules, and vendors.
  • Be scrappy and flexible; able to balance multiple tasks and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Be a self-starter, reliable, and able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the team.
  • Have strong time management and communication skills.

Job Details: Compensation for this role is $8,154.17 per month and includes health benefits and a technology stipend. This is a full-time, exempt role.
