Supervisor, Production
The Production Supervisor is responsible to oversee and coordinate all activities of the assigned team to include managing the personnel, daily metrics, and improvements to ensure safety, quality, cost, and delivery is a part of daily operations. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the employees that support this operation along with any other assigned areas of the plant and reports directly to the Value Stream Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Manage daily orders for assigned region by planning the purchasing, machining, and or assembly of products.
  • Work with but not limited to Customer Care, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Outside Processing to help meet On Time Delivery and Inventory Availability objectives.
  • Deliver orders to production floor and expedites to various departments when needed to help meet customer demand.
  • Assist floor personnel with order fulfillment issues or questions.
  • Work with various departments to drive cost cutting initiatives and lead time opportunities.
  • Facilitate feedback and communication with internal departments, service centers, and rep agencies.
  • Use various reports to track inventory and order volume to react proactively to order requirements.
  • Develop annual objectives in concert with departmental and company goals.
  • Responsible for reporting on all metrics and KPI's associated with the Planning department.
  • Develops action plans, standard work, and countermeasures as needed to support the metrics and KPI's.
  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of new staff; prioritizes, assigns and reviews work, approves time off for payroll purposes, and prepares employee performance evaluations.

Experience and Skill Required
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or 3 to 5 years of equivalent experience required.

  • Organized with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate with all levels of a corporation.
  • Excellent people skills with ability to maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Strong computer skills with strong working knowledge of MS Office applications and MRP systems.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred.
