JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Material Handler FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Materials (Warehouse)
SUMMARY
Responsible for the handling and storage of materials for all departments, as well as housekeeping activities for warehouse and dock area. Responsible for operation of material handling equipment, fork trucks, and for changing fork truck batteries. Duties will also be cross-functional including shipping, receiving, label-making and inventory functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically capable of walking for an eight-hour work shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Repeated bending and lifting during the work shift.
  • Must be able to wear steel-toe footwear.
  • Adequate visual acuity to qualify for a forklift license.
  • Must be able to operate a pallet jack for product movement.
  • Must be capable of climbing ladders/stairs for material changes.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide necessary product and material to production departments as needed.
  • Weigh and label product as needed.
  • Return product to proper storage locations per KanBan system.
  • Shrink wrap finished parts and place in proper storage location.
  • Remove KanBans from empty purchased product containers and place on proper KanBan board.
  • Cross-train in other warehouse functions and perform those functions when necessary.
  • Perform housekeeping activities for warehouse and dock area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires the ability to obtain a forklift license per OSHA requirements.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
  • A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position typically does not require any travel.
