Qualifications
  • Valid Illinois High School Professional Educator License with High School Social Science-History Endorsement

Application Deadline
  • This position will remain posted until the hiring process is complete; however, interviews may be conducted after February 23, 2026, so interested applicants should submit their materials ASAP to ensure consideration.

Important Notes
  • This position is for the District's High School Summer School Program, which will be located at Centennial High School.
  • The first session runs Monday-Thursday from June 2, 2026-June 22, 2026.
  • The second session runs Monday-Thursday from June 23, 2026-July 13, 2026.
  • Student Contact Hours will be from 8:00 a.m.-1:15 p.m.
  • Staff will be expected to be on duty (and will be paid) from 7:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Staff will also be paid for a staff meeting from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. each session (June 2, 2026 and June 23, 2026). Teachers teaching both sessions will only attend the 1-hour staff meeting on June 1, 2026.
  • Teachers will also be paid to attend professional learning on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
  • Teachers will also be paid for three (3) hours of paid prep time at the beginning of each session, and from 1:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m. for grading and finalizing the session on the final day of each session (June 22, 2026 and July 13, 2026).
  • Please note that classes will only run if enrollment requirements are met, regardless of whether a position has been offered.
  • Please note that these dates and times will vary for Behind the Wheel and ESY.
  • Teachers will be paid at the rate of $40.00/hour.
