Job description

Summer at the Creek offers six weeks of fun, enriching adventures for campers located on Indian Creekโ€™s beautiful 114-acre wooded campus just minutes north of Annapolis. Campers have access to the Schoolโ€™s wooded trails, performing arts spaces, classrooms, labs, and the Eagles Athletics Complex, including turf fields, dome, courts, gym, and fitness center.

The Summer Camp Health Personnel supports the health, safety, and wellness of campers and during Indian Creek Schoolโ€™s six-week summer camp program. This individual is responsible for administering first aid and medications, maintaining health records, responding to medical concerns and emergencies, and communicating with camp leadership and families as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, compassionate, and enjoys working in a school or camp environment.

This is a seasonal position, paid hourly, reporting to the Summer Camp Director

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and basic medical care to campers and staff during camp hours
  • Administer medications in accordance with school policies and Maryland Dept of Health regulations
  • Maintain accurate daily health logs, medication records, and incident reports
  • Assess injuries and illnesses and determine appropriate response procedures
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns when necessary
  • Collaborate with camp directors and staff to support camper wellness and safety
  • Monitor and maintain medical supplies, first aid kits, and health office organization
  • Ensure confidentiality of all medical and student information
  • Respond appropriately and efficiently in emergency situations
  • Support implementation of camp health and safety procedures

Requirements

Position Dates: Monday, June 15, 2026 through Friday, July 24, 2026

Hours: 8:30 a.m. โ€“ 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

Camp Closed:

    • Friday, June 19, 2026 (Federal Holiday Observance)
    • Friday, July 3, 2026 (Federal Holiday Observance)
Required Qualifications
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Medication Administration
  • Experience working with children in a school, camp, pediatric, or healthcare setting preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout campus and outdoor camp spaces
  • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies
  • Ability to lift and carry basic medical supplies and equipment

Candidate must pass a federal, state, and CPS background check.
