Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Division of Information Technology Services as a Student Field Technician on the Swainsboro Campus beginning in Summer 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities

• Prepares and installs lab and staff computers
• Decommissions end-of-life devices
• Collaborates with team on project
• Installs software and hardware accessories
• Manages asset inventory
• Creates and maintains documentation
• Troubleshoots Tier 1 issue
• Provides technical assistance and training to faculty and staff for software and hardware issues
• Assists with AV installs and maintenance
• Assists with AV support for on-campus events

Shift Specifics

• Up to 25 hours per week
• Flexible with schedule of availability
• Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
• Some shifts outside of regular hours for event support as needed

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary
$10.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
