Job description

Overview

MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a collaborative Project Accountant to join our team in Seattle, WA and support the financial health of multiple projects. In this role, you'll be responsible for project set up and closing, project budgets, entering contracts, managing expenses, and ensuring accurate, timely billing while partnering closely with project teams.

Responsibilities
  • Works and actively engages with Project Managers and Project Administrators to set up and maintain projects in the accounting system according to Firm best practices and procedures.
  • Reviews Owner contracts and Sub-consultant agreements to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Ensures the integrity of the project contract through approved scope changes.
  • Sets up and maintains consultant contracts in accounting system.
  • Prepares Client invoices in an accurate and timely manner during the monthly billing cycle.
  • Verifies accuracy of invoice information, including fee type, coding, and allocations.
  • Works collaboratively with Project Accounting team to achieve team goals and deadlines.
  • Researches and resolves unbilled activity.
  • Monitors and closes projects.
  • Distributes Clientโ€™s invoices, including uploading into Clients systems.
  • Issues project performance reports and identifies routine errors and potential issues.
  • Participates in meetings and supports studio teams to manage projects profitably.
  • Works with Project Manager's to resolve Client aged Accounts Receivable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or comparable experience.
  • 0-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft office including but not limited to Microsoft Excel.
  • 1+ years of Project or Job Costing experience is preferred.
  • Experience in Architecture, Engineering or Construction industry preferred.
  • Experience with billing and project accounting is preferred.
  • Deltek accounting system experience preferred.
  • Ability to interface with project managers, clients and architects.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, organize workflows and juggle conflicting demands.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $59,500 to $78,400 per year (depending on qualifications)
