Territory Sales Representative - Advertising Subscription Sales - Base Salary to 65k/year - Bloomington, IL

  • Our client, a well-established subscription-based advertising company, is seeking a Territory Sales Representative for their established Illinois region to be based in Bloomington, IL or other central location to this territory for a based plus commission sales role.
  • This position focuses on developing relationships with local businesses and community partners to generate recurring subscription revenue that supports community-based initiatives. New hires will participate in a structured 3–6 week training program, including field mentorship and ride-alongs, followed by ongoing coaching and development to support continued success in the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a protected, geographically assigned territory through consistent in-person sales activity
  • Conduct 50–60 face-to-face sales calls per week with small businesses, funeral homes, and community sponsors
  • Generate new business through prospecting, referrals, and repeat visits within assigned towns
  • Close 6–8 new sales per week while actively working within a territory
  • Maintain and track pipeline activity, leads, and customer interactions
  • Renew existing accounts on a two-year sales cycle
  • Travel 3–4 nights per week within the assigned territory
  • Submit contracts, sales activity reports, and required documentation on a weekly basis
  • Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and ride-alongs with sales leadership

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of outside B2B sales experience with in-person client interaction
  • Documented experience conducting high-volume in-person sales calls (e.g., 30+ per week)
  • Experience closing new business in a quota-driven or commission-based sales role
  • Ability to travel overnight 3–4 nights per week within a defined territory, including maintaining reliable transportation for in-person client visits
  • Ability to work within a defined geographic territory, including rural or small-market areas

Compensation:

  • Base salary to 65k/year for first year ramp up, potential to earn more
  • Transition to commission-based earnings after approximately 15 months
  • Top performers earn six-figure total compensation
  • 400-dollar weekly travel expense (rolling balance)
