Job Title: Legal Assistant / Paralegal (Personal Injury)
Location: Madison, WI
Compensation: $60,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM)
Work Environment: On-site


About the Opportunity

A well-established personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support attorneys through all phases of personal injury cases, from intake through settlement and litigation.


This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys client interaction, case management, and litigation support in a collaborative team environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle client intake, appointment scheduling, and claims setup
  • Request, organize, and summarize medical records and billing documentation
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, and investigators
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, attorney meetings, and case-related deadlines
  • Prepare settlement demand packages and maintain organized case files
  • Assist with discovery, including interrogatories and requests for production
  • Draft notices, correspondence, and litigation-related documents
  • Assist with witness lists, trial preparation, and settlement documentation
  • Review liens, balances, and other settlement-related information


Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of personal injury or litigation experience
  • Strong understanding of the personal injury claims process
  • Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records and bills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

Preferred:

  • Plaintiff personal injury experience
  • Paralegal degree or related legal education
  • Experience with subrogation, liens, and settlement disbursements
  • Familiarity with Filevine or other case management software
