Job Description
The office of Cozen O'Connor is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to support the attorneys in the Subrogation department. The candidate should have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, experience handling complex matters involving catastrophic injuries, and the ability to prioritize and balance a variety of tasks. An ideal candidate would have exposure assessing medical records and handling defect litigation. The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of litigation experience and thrives in a fast-paced, high intensity environment. While we are busy, we pride ourselves on being team-oriented and working collectively to our client's best interests. The candidate will be expected to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. The candidate may also support the attorneys in our other office locations as needed as well.

Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys in with all aspects of trial preparation
  • Assist in preparing legal documents including motions, contracts, and agreements
  • Oversee/assist with the discovery process, including the analysis of medical records obtaining IME's, scheduling depositions, assisting with discovery requests and responses, and preparing /filing pleadings, privilege logs and memoranda
  • Establish and maintain strong communications with clients, experts, witnesses, etc.
  • Perform factual research and investigation addressing various trial issues
  • Utilize computer databases to organize, store and access information; conduct moderately complex research on LEXIS, Westlaw and other online computer assisted research databases
  • Trial preparation and attendance at trial (organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed)
  • Keep apprised of all developments of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information (state and federal court).
  • Proficiency in PACER, Relativity, billing software, case management software, Adobe Acrobat, and Trial Director preferred

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal environment is highly preferred
  • A four-year college degree and/or paralegal certificate required
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build a rapport with team and clients
  • Detail oriented, able to work independently, and possess excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills
  • Must have the motivation and skill to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven computer/technology skills. Microsoft Office Suite a must

The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000 and represents the Firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications and location.
