Job Type Non-Faculty Position Title Student Assistant Position Number SE9997 Department Admissions & Recruitment Location Morehouse College - Atlanta, GA Position Summary
The Admissions Student Worker & Residential Mentor supports the Office of Admissions through campus visit operations, office support, and pre-collegiate programming initiatives. This position serves as a representative of Morehouse College to prospective students, families, alumni, and campus guests while contributing to the successful execution of summer recruitment and student engagement programs.
In addition to supporting daily Admissions operations, this position serves as a Residential Mentor during the Jacks in the House summer residential program, providing mentorship, supervision, and program support to participating students.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Morehouse College student in good academic and disciplinary standing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Commitment to professionalism and customer service
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a Student Ambassador, Orientation Leader, Resident Assistant, Tour Guide, or student leader
Experience working with youth, mentoring, or facilitating programs
Knowledge of Morehouse College history, traditions, and student experience
Preferred Education/Experience
Completion of at least one academic year at Morehouse College
Demonstrated leadership and campus involvement
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Conduct campus tours for prospective students, families, alumni, and visitors
  • Assist with daily office operations and administrative support within Admissions
  • Support recruitment events, visit programs, and enrollment initiatives
  • Assist with visitor check-in, event preparation, and guest engagement
  • Support Roads to the House and other pre-collegiate initiatives as assigned
  • Serve as a Residential Mentor during the Jacks in the House summer residential program
  • Supervise and mentor student participants during program activities
  • Assist with program logistics, transitions, and student engagement efforts
  • Maintain professionalism and uphold institutional standards while representing Morehouse College
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
