Job description

The School of Pharmacy- Worcester/Manchester seeks a qualified individual to serve as an adjunct faculty-student success navigator to support student learning experiences and success in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. The selected candidate will work primarily in a remote capacity with responsibilities centered on early identification of student academic challenges and facilitation of student support strategies to promote progression.

The selected candidate will collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement and Success, Faculty, and Academic Coaches to provide success planning for PharmD students to support progression.

  • Works with a sense of urgency to conduct prompt analyses to provide outreach to students for individualized academic coaching and interventions
  • Monitors academic performance and implements early intervention strategies for at-risk learners
  • Conducts meetings with at-risk learners remotely and/or in person as needed
  • Identifies and supports student learning needs
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of student meetings, progress, and outcomes
  • Submits end of semester reports on trends, student needs, and outcomes
  • Coordinates with University student support services, including ADA compliance, counseling, and academic resource offices
  • Engages in weekly meetings with School's administrative team in charge of student success
  • Uses the University's learning management system and Student Success Hub to support student engagement
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor

Required:

  • PharmD (preferred) or B.S. Pharmacy with relevant experience will be considered
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively and interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff)
  • Must be able to use School's learning management system, assessment platforms, and technologies for videoconferencing, documentation, and communication

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred

  • Experience in academic coaching, advising, and remediation
  • Experience in teaching, mentoring, or advising students
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
