Job Description:
Job Summary
The English Department is seeking a student associate with a positive attitude to assist our staff with everyday department clerical tasks that include website updates, social media, developing promotional materials, event planning and implementation, use of spreadsheets, data mining, and graphic design.
Applicants must be current Purdue undergraduate students in West Lafayette and eligible for Federal Work Study funding.Students majoring in English, Professional Writing, or Creative Writing will be given special consideration.
Essential duties: Front Desk receptionist, greeting guests/students/staff, answer the phone, computer usage and data processing, errands on campus, and light cleaning.
Responsibilities: Pleasant attitude toward all, maintain confidentiality, detail oriented.
Necessary skills: MS Office, Google Suite, website updates, social media.
Preferred skills: Graphic design experience; knowledge of Canva; social media; AI models, data mining.
The student associate will be asked to perform the essential duties listed above while always maintaining confidentiality.
Student Associate starting wage: $13.00/hour
Students Associates should anticipate working approximately 10 hours per week between 9am and 4pm.
