Job Summary
Position Description:
This position is responsible for clerical, administrative and daily operations of the A.H. Ismail Center's front desk and fitness center. The front desk staff is instrumental in creating and maintaining a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment as they are often the first person visitors and members see. This position pays $10.00 per hour. MUST BE WORK-STUDY ELIGIBLE. Anticipated start date: April 26, 2023.
Specific Job Duties:
Adhere to the Protect Purdue and Ismail Center policies and procedures.
Supervision of the Ismail Center front desk and fitness center - answering telephone, greeting members, taking memberships.
Conduct orientations of the Ismail Center facilities and equipment Communicate programs offered at the Center to new members and guests Assist with cleaning exercise equipment.
Launder towels and maintain clean supply or towels for members.
Other job duties/expectations include but not limited to:
Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, standards and objectives Maintain a cooperative and professional work relationship with members, guests, and staff.
Demonstrate proficiency in all emergency procedures for the A.H. Ismail Center.
Opening and closing the A.H. Ismail Center facility
Qualifications:
Commitment to quality customer service CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
Willing to complete Payment Card Industry Data Security (PCI DSS) training certification
Job Skills Required:
Highly self-motivated and dedicated, high level of professionalism, proven ability to work with others, proficient in web-based programs and Windows software products, committed to providing customer service, and committed to upholding the mission and values of the A.H. Ismail Center and Department of Health & Kinesiology.
