Job Description Summary
Provide general library support.
Responsibilities
The Special Collections & Archives Division of the Leatherby Libraries seeks a motivated graduate or undergraduate student for part-time employment (up to 10 hours) assisting the University Archivist, Coordinator of Special Collections, Archivist, and Special Collections & Archives Assistants in their day-to-day operations.
In addition to general support, duties include but are not limited to:
• inventorying collection items, labeling, basic preservation (refoldering and rehousing), research, and some writing
• building or breaking down containers
• shifting or paging archival collections
• scanning/digitizing archival materials
• assisting during the occasional public outreach event
• other related duties as assigned
Training will be provided.
Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Student employee must be detail-oriented, able to perform tasks independently, and write neatly.
Federal Work Study (FWS) is required.
Desired Qualifications
Candidates studying history, or a related subject, preferred.
