Job description

Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, PA, a leader among the nation's independent, two-year colleges, has an
immediate opening for an adjunct instructor in the Medical Laboratory Technician program. This is an
on-campus, in person position with supplemental online duties related to hands-on laboratory activities.
Job Title: Lab Instructor - MLS 240 Applied Lab Techniques 2
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Instructor for MLT student lab on six select Saturdays each fall semester; Lab sessions are
focused on hands-on instruction in blood bank, microbiology, serology, urinalysis, coagulation,
chemistry, and hematology.
โ€ข Involves additional lab set-up time on campus prior to the scheduled student lab time.
โ€ข Incorporate manual and automated methodologies, quality control, troubleshooting, and problem
solving to align with MLT entry-level expectations.
โ€ข Supervise lab activities, provide real-time feedback, and assess competencies using practical
exams and skill checklists.
โ€ข Maintain accurate and timely records of student competencies and performance.
โ€ข Grade and monitor student activities online using the Canvas LMS
โ€ข Participate in program assessment, accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement
per NAACLS standards.
โ€ข Help students develop confidence, critical thinking, and professional behaviors required in a
clinical laboratory.
โ€ข Participate in all College and Program meetings as directed by the Lab Science Program Director.
Qualifications/Skills:
โ€ข MLS (ASCP) cm or related credentials with current certification
โ€ข Minimum of three years' experience in clinical lab operations
โ€ข Prior in-class teaching experience preferred
โ€ข Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
โ€ข Ability to work independently
โ€ข Experience in using a learning management systems (LMS)
