Requisition 202600132ST Title Student Employee-Biological Sciences-Hourly Student Lab Assistant Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position No Department Dept of Biological Sciences Division Division of Academic Affairs Hours per week Up to 28 Hiring Rate
Minimum starting rate: $10/hr
Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position
Student Laboratory Instructor will assist the freshman laboratory courses listed in the form of instruction assistance, supervision and grade handling. Additional tasks may be deemed at the discretion of the laboratory coordinator.
Jobs task will consist of but are not limited to:
Prep work for lab(s)
Grading student work within 10 days as per university policy
Instructing/Supervising students during active lab session(s) that have been assigned
Making copies for the lab section/session
Meeting one-on-one with students of assigned lab(s)
Organizing/Cleaning assigned lab room(s)
Other duties as assigned by Laboratory Coordinator
The selected candidate will be responsible for management of student grades and grading assignments in a timely manner. It is expected that the student selected for this position will be punctual, have excellent communication, will work in a team environment, and understand biological concepts.
Furthermore, the hired student must adhere to all university student employment policies and regulations as detailed by human resources.
