Greenville University is seeking a Director of Conduct to join our Student Integrated Success Team. The Director of Conduct serves as a key member of the Student Integrated Success Team and is responsible for administering a fair, consistent, and educationally sound student conduct process that supports student growth, accountability, and campus safety.
As a champion for student success, the Director of Conduct provides vision, leadership, and oversight for the student conduct process, community standards, restorative practices, and conduct-related crisis response efforts. Through collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and families, the Director of Conduct works to cultivate a campus culture where every student has the opportunity to be Seen. Known. Inspired.
The Director of Conduct promotes accountability, integrity, and student development while ensuring alignment with Greenville University's mission, values, and Christian identity.
Requirements
Essential Responsibilities
Student Conduct and Community Standards

• Administer the University's student conduct process from intake through resolution.
• Investigate and adjudicate alleged violations of the Student Handbook.
• Develop, review, and update conduct policies, procedures, and the Student Handbook in consultation with University leadership.
• Facilitate educational sanctions and restorative practices that promote learning and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations impacting students, including FERPA, Title IX, ADA, and the Clery Act.
• Maintain accurate and confidential conduct records and reporting systems.

Student Advocacy and Support

• Serve as a resource and advocate for students navigating the conduct process.
• Meet with students to review alleged violations, rights, and processes in a manner that is clear, fair, and compassionate.
• Coordinate with campus partners on interventions and support plans for students with repeated or serious conduct concerns.
• Support student retention, belonging, and holistic development through the conduct process.

Crisis Response and Student Care

• Serve as a key member of the University's crisis response and behavioral intervention teams.
• Coordinate conduct-related responses to student crises, emergencies, and critical incidents.
• Collaborate with campus partners to support students affected by emergencies, mental health concerns, or critical incidents.
• Provide leadership and guidance on conduct matters during campus-wide emergencies involving students.

Training, Education, and Community Standards Development

• Train and support hearing officers, resident directors, and other staff involved in the conduct process.
• Develop educational programming on community standards, academic integrity, and responsible decision-making.
• Promote a campus culture of integrity, respect, and accountability through proactive education efforts.

Leadership and Supervision

• Supervise professional and student staff supporting the conduct process, as assigned.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative, student-focused culture among team members.
• Assist with budget development and resource stewardship for the conduct office.

Campus Collaboration

• Partner with Academic Affairs, Residence Life, Athletics, Enrollment, ADA Services, Counseling Services, International Student Services, Campus Safety, and other campus departments.
• Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to support student success and accountability initiatives.
• Serve on institutional committees and task forces as assigned.

Emergency Response Responsibilities
While the Director of Conduct does not participate in the regular professional staff on-call rotation, the position serves as a designated emergency responder for significant student conduct matters, critical incidents, and campus crises. The Director of Conduct may be called upon outside of normal business hours to provide leadership, decision-making, support, and coordination during conduct-related emergencies affecting students or the campus community.
Other Duties
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership or designated supervisor in support of departmental and institutional goals.
Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience in an educational or academic setting or Master's degree and at least three years of experience in an educational or academic setting?
• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or student affairs, with direct experience in student conduct.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex and sensitive student conduct situations with professionalism, discretion, and compassion.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
• Working knowledge of due process principles and higher education conduct standards.

Preferred

• Experience in a Dean of Students Office, Residence Life, or Student Support Services setting.
• Crisis management and behavioral intervention experience.
• Knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, ADA accommodations, the Clery Act, and other higher education regulations.
• Training or certification in restorative practices or conduct administration (e.g., ASCA-affiliated training).

Physical and Work Requirements

• Ability to navigate campus facilities, including stairs and multiple residence halls.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency response situations.

Salary Band: $45,000-$65,000/Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
