Job description

Engineered Steel Products (ESP) is a North Carolina based steel fabrication company providing structural steel for the construction industry. ESP’s vision is to provide world-class structural steel to customers across its product range that incorporates:


Responsibilities:

• Play an active part in the Safe work performance of the Team.

• Work closely with the fitters and other welders in the assigned work area to ensure optimum workflow.

• Assist the fitter in assembling relevant detail work for the main member being worked on.

• Ensure that all material edges have been de-burred and finished material presentation is in line with company standards.

• Understand all fitment marks as laid out by the fitter including weld and hole sizes.

• Assist fitter in tack welding detail to main piece.

• Perform FCAW (Flux Core) Welding

• Perform basic welding functions as directed by the Plant Manager.

• Safely rig material using chains / clamps and use safely operate overhead and jib cranes to move material.


Requirements:

-2 years of experience welding structural steel

-Experience with FCAW Welding

-Commitment to safe work


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Lift and carry materials or tools weighing up to 50+ pounds
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots as required.
