Job description

The Opportunity

CP Eakes is hiring its first sales leader in company history: a rare opportunity to build a sales and marketing function from the ground floor inside a profitable, 30-year-old custom metal fabrication business with a rock-solid reputation in the Triad.

Growth to date has come mostly through referrals and the management team without a formal sales manager. We recently partnered with New Page Company, a local ownership group with a 14-year track record of backing Triad industrial businesses for the long term, not a quick exit. That partnership created this role.

You'll work directly with the President to build CP Eakes' first sales and marketing strategy and own its execution. Year one is hands-on: learn the business, build a personal pipeline of new customers, and support the estimating/project management team on existing accounts. Prove out new growth, and you'll have the mandate to build a team around you.

Duties

  • Work directly with the President to develop CP Eakes' first formal sales and marketing strategy
  • Own execution of the strategy beginning as a player-coach focused on new customers, you sell and lead
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets including industrial, architectural and OEM
  • Support current estimation team as needed to account/project manage, grow, and deepen relationships
  • Navigate both short and long sales cycles from quick-turn custom fabrication jobs to larger, relationship-driven programs
  • Develop a working knowledge of CP Eakes' full capabilities including stainless steel fabrication, aluminum, trench drains, ornamental cladding, laser cutting, and OE parts to consult customers and position solutions
  • Represent CP Eakes at industry events, trade associations, and customer site visits across the region
  • Develop and manage sales pipeline; track activity, opportunities, and results
  • Collaborate with the production team on quoting, lead times, and capacity to ensure commitments are kept
  • Support the development of marketing materials, digital presence, and brand positioning over time
  • Build the sales and marketing team as growth warrants; start with leading our existing estimators/inside sales and customer service team

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in manufacturing, industrial, or custom fabrication markets
  • Demonstrated track record of growing revenue in new accounts and strategic account growth
  • Comfortable selling both short-cycle transactional work and longer-cycle strategic accounts
  • Strong relationship builder that is consultative by nature with demonstrated, process-oriented sales approach
  • Enough technical curiosity to learn the product and speak credibly with engineers, purchasing managers, and operations leaders
  • Self-starter who can operate in and improve a sales structure/process
  • Comfortable developing or contributing to sales and marketing strategy, not just executing someone else's playbook
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and basic sales reporting
  • Exemplify company Core Values to other employees and customers

The New Page Way — Our Values

  • Win as a team
  • Find a solution
  • Look for better ways
  • Own the outcome
