Toyon Research Corporation is an industry leader in the areas of complex space and missile systems analysis, aerothermodynamics, payload design and development, and ground and flight testing. We are seeking a highly skilled structural engineer to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform stress analysis of mechanical systems for space applications
  • Work with a multi-disciplined team to provide structural design trades and design/analysis assessments of aerospace systems
  • Design tests for model validation
  • Create analysis data packages and documentation to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams and customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of static, fatigue, dynamics, damage tolerance and other structural analysis methods
  • Experience with Implicit/Explicit Structural Finite Element Modeling/Analysis (FEM/FEA)
  • Experience with multi-physics or shock dynamics modeling
  • Experience with the various elements of mechanical design, including selection of structural materials, adhesive and fastener selection
  • Experience using parametric CAD software to create models of assemblies, parts and drawings

The annual pay range for the Structural Analyst position is $120,000 to $200,000.


The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate's education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
