Job description

The Strategy Office has an opportunity for a Strategy Associate to join its team.  The role coordinates and drives key strategic initiatives requiring a high degree of discretion, leadership, research & analysis, and implementation support.  This position applies experience and rigorous analysis to clinical program strategy & business development opportunities, coordinate solution development with leaders from across the organization, and provides effective project management for strategic initiatives.  Representative projects will include market and competitive analysis, financial pro forma statement development, clinical program strategic dashboard creation / metric tracking, and growth / integration initiative execution.

Position responsibilities:

  • Assist Strategy Team in developing data-driven analytic plans, executing project analysis, communicating status updates with internal and external teams, and presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Assist in maintaining the data sources and reporting of select information: hospital association encounter data, claims data, referrals.

  • Assist in providing robust external analysis regarding healthcare consumption across the state and across sites of care (hospitals, surgery centers, physician offices)

  • Support transparency and improved performance in all areas of operations through development and monitoring of key performance measures.

  • Develop analysis of clinical operations / productivity, financial performance, and strategic success to ensure operational, financial, and strategic initiatives are being achieved.

  • Work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with all levels of professional, technical, and administrative staff and to integrate resources.

  • Research a variety of health-related topics and distill key messages in support of initiatives.

  • Understand organizational policies and procedures necessary to ensure appropriate decision-making protocols are followed.

  • Develop expertise in particular areas of business strategy work and assists the team in creating standardization toolkits for relevant domains (e.g., core frameworks, standard processes, standard analytics, etc.).

  • Manage multiple deadlines and prioritize project work.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or related degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • 0 - 6 months of professional work experience in related field

  • Experience structuring and executing quantitative analysis required

  • Superb critical thinking skills, strong coordination / organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal,  written, and verbal communication skills required

  • Proficiency in common software applications required (i.e., MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word)

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment.
