Vice President of Commercial Strategy

Location: Dubuque, IA

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 DOE

Bonus: Performance & EBITA Bonus up to 25%

A premier gaming and hospitality organization is looking to identify an accomplished Vice President of Commercial Strategy to serve as the senior commercial executive for a diversified resort operation. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive will bring together casino marketing, player development, hotel and resort sales, loyalty, brand, digital marketing, and guest engagement under one integrated commercial strategy.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a commercially sophisticated leader who understands how gaming and hospitality can work together to drive revenue, increase market share, and strengthen guest loyalty. The VP of Commercial Strategy will combine data-driven decision-making with hands-on executive leadership to identify growth opportunities, maximize guest lifetime value, and create a more connected experience across gaming, hotel, food and beverage, entertainment, and ancillary operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead an integrated commercial strategy across gaming, hotel, food and beverage, entertainment, and ancillary revenue streams
  • Create annual and multi-year commercial plans focused on revenue growth, market share, guest acquisition, retention, and profitability
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities between casino, hotel, entertainment, and other guest experiences
  • Provide executive leadership to Player Development, Casino Loyalty, and Hotel & Resort Sales
  • Establish player segmentation, reinvestment, host performance, portfolio management, and loyalty strategies
  • Develop group, corporate, leisure, and transient hotel sales strategies aligned with property-wide revenue objectives
  • Align hotel sales efforts with casino demand, entertainment programming, occupancy goals, and major events
  • Lead brand positioning, advertising strategy, audience targeting, media investment, and campaign performance
  • Oversee outsourced partners responsible for brand, digital marketing, CRM, database marketing, and social media
  • Leverage player data, CRM analytics, STR reporting, and commercial performance metrics to identify growth opportunities
  • Develop loyalty and guest engagement strategies designed to increase visitation, retention, spend, and lifetime value
  • Manage commercial and marketing budgets, agency relationships, vendor agreements, and return on investment
  • Partner directly with the CEO and executive leadership team on overall growth strategy and commercial performance
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial leadership team while fostering accountability and collaboration


Ideal Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial strategy, marketing, sales, revenue management, or related revenue-generating functions
  • Senior leadership experience within gaming, casino, resort, hospitality, entertainment, or another complex consumer-facing business
  • Proven success overseeing multiple commercial functions such as casino marketing, player development, hotel sales, loyalty, CRM, brand, or digital marketing
  • Strong understanding of casino player development, host management, reinvestment strategy, segmentation, and loyalty-driven revenue models
  • Experience developing and executing strategic business plans, revenue initiatives, and market growth strategies
  • Strong analytical background with experience interpreting player data, CRM analytics, STR reporting, and commercial performance dashboards
  • Experience using guest and behavioral data to improve acquisition, retention, personalization, and lifetime value
  • Background overseeing external marketing, advertising, digital, or CRM agencies and holding partners accountable to measurable KPIs
  • Experience leading commercial transformation, organizational integration, or cross-functional growth initiatives preferred
  • Current or previous experience as a Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, Senior Director, or comparable senior commercial leader preferred
  • Executive-level communication, presentation, relationship-building, and strategic decision-making skills
