How much do strategic researcher jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 3, 2026, the average yearly pay for strategic researcher in the United States is $113,102.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $67,000.00 and $154,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is a strategic researcher?

A strategic researcher is a professional who analyzes market trends, industry data, and competitive landscapes to inform long-term business strategies. They often use research tools, data analysis, and critical thinking skills to support decision-making and strategic planning within organizations.

What are Strategic Researchers?

Strategic Researchers are professionals who gather, analyze, and interpret information to support an organization’s long-term goals and decision-making. They often conduct in-depth research on industries, competitors, markets, or specific issues to provide actionable insights. Their work helps organizations identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and develop effective strategies for growth and success.

What jobs pay 500,000 a year in the US?

In the US, some high-paying roles such as senior executives (CEOs, CFOs), specialized surgeons, and successful entrepreneurs can earn $500,000 or more annually. Certain investment bankers, hedge fund managers, and top-tier lawyers also reach this level, often requiring advanced degrees, extensive experience, and strong professional networks.

How does a Strategic Researcher typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights?

Strategic Researchers often work closely with departments such as marketing, product development, and executive leadership to ensure their research aligns with organizational objectives. They gather input from stakeholders to shape research questions, present findings in easily digestible formats, and participate in strategy sessions to translate insights into practical recommendations. This collaborative approach ensures that the research directly informs business decisions and fosters an environment of shared learning and continuous improvement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Strategic Researcher, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Strategic Researcher, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in data gathering, and a background in fields like business, economics, or social sciences. Familiarity with research databases, data analysis tools (such as Excel, SPSS, or Tableau), and experience with industry-specific platforms are often required. Outstanding critical thinking, communication, and attention to detail help set top performers apart in this role. These abilities ensure that research is thorough, insights are actionable, and recommendations effectively support organizational decision-making.

What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

Strategic Researchers typically do not earn $300,000 annually; such high salaries are more common in executive roles, investment banking, or specialized medical fields. High-paying jobs often require advanced degrees, extensive experience, or leadership positions. Roles like senior executives, surgeons, or investment managers are more likely to reach this salary level.

Which 3 jobs will survive AI?

Strategic Researchers in fields requiring complex analysis, creativity, and human judgment are likely to remain essential despite AI advancements. Jobs that involve interpreting nuanced data, developing new strategies, or understanding human behavior—such as policy analysts, creative professionals, and specialized consultants—are less susceptible to automation. Continuous learning and skills in critical thinking, communication, and domain expertise enhance job security in these areas.

The main difference between a Strategic Researcher and a Market Analyst lies in their focus areas. Strategic Researchers primarily analyze broad industry trends and develop long-term strategies for organizations, while Market Analysts focus on specific market data, consumer behavior, and sales forecasts. Both roles require similar educational backgrounds and often work in related environments, but their core objectives and daily tasks differ significantly.

  • Identify "what space" opportunities for growth within the LTD field and adjacent markets by analyzing consumer and product dynamics.

Advancement Integration:

  • Collaborate directly with the Partnerships, Giving, and Grants teams to provide the high-level market, literature, and competitive research required to establish new funding channels and build credibility with key funders

External Research Partnerships:

  • Serve as a principal authority with external clients of Eco's "Play for Every Brain" universal design research offering; selling, briefing, and delivering research insights that drive impact and resources.
  • Drive impact by briefing partners on high-level research insights and translating complex data into strategic narratives that secure new opportunities and funding.
Must-haves
  • 7-10 years of professional experience, high-level management consulting (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG) or a senior role in strategic planning, market intelligence or client-side insights.
  • Proven ability to deliver insights and counsel to Directors, VPs, and Executive Leadership Teams (ELT).
  • Must demonstrate multi-category expertise and be viewed as a core authority in research and landscape analysis.
  • Experience owning material, complex projects that are cross-departmental and external-facing.
  • Skill in partnering with more junior researchers to refine raw data and initial insights into executive-level narratives.
  • Committed to embodying and being a steward of our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Nice-to-haves
  • Advanced degree (MBA or relevant Master's).
  • Experience in the venture capital or social impact investment space.
