Job Overview:
Support Supply Chain and Purchasing to reach department KPIs. Responsible for purchasing components in assigned commodities at minimum cost and for maintaining acceptable inventory levels, on time deliveries from suppliers, required days on hand levels and to minimize obsolescence as required in department KPIs. Responsible for coordinating inbound logistics, daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and for identifying and following up on continuous improvement opportunities through a good relationship and excellent communication.

Duties:

  • Support Supply Chain and Purchasing to reach department KPI objectives.
  • Responsible for purchasing components in assigned commodities at minimum cost.
  • Responsible for maintaining acceptable on time deliveries from suppliers,
  • Responsible for maintaining acceptable inventory levels (days on hand DOH).
  • Responsible for running weekly DOH reports by location and buyer identifying action items.
  • Responsible to minimize obsolescence as required in department KPIs
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting and for identifying and following up on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for running monthly Obsolescence report identifying Action items.
  • Lead and monitor buildout process for a minimum impact to the company.
  • Responsible for running weekly build out report when applicable identifying action items.
  • Responsible for identifying and following up on continuous improvement actions.
  • Lead, participate, and support Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Responsible for inbound logistics through a good relationship and excellent communication.
  • Provide required training to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Lead, participate, support, and audit Process maps, SOP’s and SWD’s for standardization among all sites.
  • Improve forecast accuracy by monitoring the status of active sales and customer orders.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate QAD transactions
  • Responsible for consignment programs where applicable.
  • Coordinate and control Non-conformance reports, monitoring compliance and execution of actions.
  • Maintain a good relationship and excellent communication with suppliers.
  • Performing supplier visits and hosting supplier meetings.
  • Participate in the organization, planning, and execution of the Cycle Count Program.
  • Responsible for compensation requests and supplier chargebacks.
  • Maintain MRP system for inventory control, and other systems as needed.
  • Responsible for any additional duties assigned by department manager

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • · Advanced level with Microsoft Office Excel and Power Point. Manages multiple tasks and projects at any given time.
  • Strong organizational, priority/time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution and judgment skills.
  • Speaks effectively before groups of customers or associates of MAI Companies (GLA, GSA, IA).
  • Communicates problems involving complex and confidential situations to management and seek guidance and direction.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills to compose and/or edit written materials, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, customer schedules, operations standards, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Must build and sustain positive communication with customers, suppliers, company peers, and associates.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Hands on and working knowledge required of each station/area on assigned shift

Qualifications (Education / Training):

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business management or related field, and 1-2 years of experience in supply chain or Purchasing/MRP (Purchasing/MRP experience, preferred). MS Office experience, advanced excel and advanced Power Point. APICS and/or CPIM certifications will be a plus.
