Software Resources has an immediate, long term contract job opportunity for a VMO Strategic Project Manager with a major corporation in Burbank, CA. On-site Monday - Thursday, Remote Friday.
12+ month contract

Description:
The Technology Process and Performance (TP&P) organization partners across all organizations to drive process efficiencies and effectiveness by measuring the organization''s performance and driving excellence. As part of the TP&P team, the Vendor Management Office (VMO) mission is to establish and manage strategic partnerships and operational workflows to drive effective management of our vendor relationships, identify cost efficiencies, and reduce risks to Company.
The VMO Strategic Project PM plays a key role in supporting strategic vendor management initiatives across Enterprise Technology. This role partners closely with the Sr. Manager, Technology VMO Strategic Operations and VMO Strategic Delivery team to drive the execution, coordination, and operationalization of complex, enterprise‐wide vendor management, and strategic sourcing initiatives. The VMO Strategic Project PM will serve as an integrator across workstreams, assisting in moving initiatives from strategy to execution with clarity, discipline, and alignment. The VMO Strategic Project PM partners across VMO, Strategic Sourcing, and technology and business stakeholders to manage dependencies, prepare executive‐level materials, and ensure changes are effectively adopted across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Execution & Coordination

  • Manage integrated plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and decision points across concurrent large-scale initiatives, including enterprise agreements and rationalization efforts.
  • Coordinate timing and sequencing across large scale, strategic renewals, RFPs, and in‐flight sourcing efforts to avoid conflicts and maximize leverage.

  • Coordinate across teams to help ensure cross functional alignment workstreams aligned.


Executive & Leadership Support

  • Prepare executive read‐outs, decision decks, status updates, and briefing materials.
  • Help frame decision options, tradeoffs, and escalation paths for leadership.
  • Ensure a consistent operating rhythm across governance forums and executive meetings.

Strategy Enablement

  • Act as a thought partner to the Sr. Manager on prioritization, sequencing, and execution tradeoffs.
  • Translate defined strategy into actionable roadmaps, OKRs, and execution plans.
  • Support enterprise initiatives that span multiple quarters and stakeholder groups.


Change Management & Adoption

  • Support change management for new vendor models, SLAs, intake processes, and sourcing approaches.
  • Develop and execute communication plans, stakeholder enablement, and training materials.
  • Support rollout of new governance models, performance frameworks, and operating expectations.
  • Ensure business and segment teams understand what is changing, why it matters, and how to engage.
  • Partner with VMO Process, Product, and Operations teams to institutionalize changes into standard ways of working.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 6–10 years of experience in vendor management, strategic sourcing, program management, business operations, or enterprise technology environments.
  • Proven experience coordinating complex, cross‐functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to translate strategy into structured execution plans.
  • Experience preparing executive‐level materials and supporting leadership decision‐making.
  • Experience supporting change management or operating model transformation efforts.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within or closely with a Vendor Management Office (VMO) or Strategic Sourcing organization.
  • Familiarity with enterprise agreements, RFPs, renewals, and vendor governance models.
  • Exposure to technology vendors (hardware, software, services).
