Job description

We are scaling faster than any complex hardware company ever and are looking for a Customer Project Manager to join our dynamic, first of its kind organization. This role will report directly to the Head of Program Management and will be based in person at company HQ in San Jose, CA.
Role and Responsibilities:
  • You are the single point customer project owner from pre-contract to power on for some of the largest and most ambitious energy generation projects on the planet
  • You are responsible for instituting and managing an end-to-end stage gate process that aligns the customer and all internal Bloom Energy stakeholders to ensure projects happen on time and the customer is delighted with the results
  • "Power On" is your north star
  • You don't just make sure risks are raised early, you make sure the risk gets buy in and closed out quickly with the right owner(s) across the organization.
  • You question requirements when it will increase speed, not block/slowdown the project
  • Travel: you do what it takes. If boots on the ground are required, you get on a plane and go solve the problem.

Skills:
  • You are a high EQ person
  • You know how to solve problems in the real world from first principles
  • You are extremely organized and can confidently communicate project status and risk mitigation strategies to CEO level leadership with little notice. This role will require disciplined and regular report out of all aspects of customer project execution to executive leadership
  • You can talk the talk with a highly technical engineering manager, then walk in to the next meeting and close out commercial contract topics with the sales team.
  • You have focused your career on getting things done, not playing organization politics
  • You put customer and company success first, because you know that customer success leads to company success, which then leads to your success.

Experience:
  • 15+ years of project/program management in a technical function, EPC management or relevant power/hardware/industrial capacity.
  • Ideally large datacenter or power infrastructure project management experience requiring long term planning and upstream alignment rather than last minute brute force.
  • Evidence of exceptional execution managing cross function teams on extremely tight timelines with limited resources
  • You have experience operating from scrappy startup phase to fortune 500...ideally in the same company
  • Ideally B.S. Engineering: Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP).
  • Scheduling software programs: Microsoft Project, ERP and MRP systems
Salary Ranges:
$200,100.00 - $287,900.00
