PROJECT MANAGER - SYSTEMS

Title: Project Manager
Job Type: Salary - Exempt
Department: Systems
Location: Mira Loma, CA
Supervisor: Systems Division Manager

SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for leading customer projects from initiation through final close-out, ensuring alignment with internal processes, schedule commitments, regulatory compliance, and targeted profitability. This role requires strong project management leadership across cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, vendors, installers, and customers. The Project Manager must be capable of applying both predictive (plan-driven) and adaptive (flexible, iterative) methodologies depending on project scope, complexity, and stakeholder needs. While familiarity with design coordination and permitting is beneficial, the primary focus of this role is disciplined execution, documentation control, stakeholder alignment, and financial performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead projects using predictive methodologies when scope is defined and adaptive methodologies when scope evolves.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle including turnover, material procurement, installation coordination, inspections, invoicing, and close-out.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and execution plans.
  • Manage project budgets to achieve targeted gross profit performance.
  • Prepare and/or validate bill of materials (BOMs), cost considerations, and installation impacts.
  • Coordinate with AHJs for permitting, revisions, approvals, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with structural engineers and technical consultants as required.
  • Conduct site visits, pre-install walks, and installation oversight when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate project records within company workflow management software.
  • Ensure required deliverables, documentation, and customer sign-off are completed in full.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to internal stakeholders and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience required); demonstrated project management experience; PMP certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage projects according to scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Experience coordinating permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing bill of materials and construction documentation preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project (or equivalent).
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Compensation

This position includes a competitive base salary depending on experience with a wage range of $85k to $95k and participation in a performance based commission structure tied to project profitability, successful completion, and fulfillment of required deliverables and documentation.
