Job Description:
Summary:
The Planning Analyst assists strategic planning staff in facilitating the conception, development, and implementation of planning opportunities with Ballad Health administrative and clinical staff, including Ballad Health market, facility, entity and service line leadership. The position is responsible for gathering, assimilating and analyzing data to provide decision-making support for the research/planning process. Specific responsibilities include participation in the research and support of strategic, financial, and business plans; preparation of analyses and reports for management, including the optimization of the system-wide performance management system used to track strategic action plans and correlated metrics; data support for key system strategies such as Value-Based Contracts and Population Health; preparation data analyses to support Certificate of Need/Certificate of Public Need applications and other activities such as tracking; expertise of the Sg2 Edge product and other vendor-supported planning tools that provide demographics, projections and so on; use of visualization software to maximize data analyses; maintenance of local physician inventory for medical staff development plans; support of completion of Hospital-Physician Alignment Committee market assessments; support of system Social Responsibility functions and Community Health Needs Assessments; research on technology advances by service line; assistance with Joint Annual Report and Annual Licensure Survey Data reporting; and other ongoing market analyses as needed. This position requires the ability to work for extended periods with minimal direct supervision. The ability to concentrate on detailed information for extended periods of time, to interpret and analyze business information, communicate effectively, and identify and resolve logical inconsistencies in data in a timely manner are critical. Initiative, a positive attitude, the ability to work with minimal supervision and being able to effectively lead their team are also characteristics key to successful performance.
Requirements:
At a minimum, the Planning Analyst will possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field. The position requires a minimum of two years of progressive experience in health planning or finance or related field. Excellent communication skills, proficiency with advanced spreadsheets, databases, business graphics, mapping software and organization skills are required. Proficiency with Sg2, Advisory Board Company Products, MedeAnalytics, Tableau or like-vendor products strongly preferred.
