Job description

POSITION SUMMARY First review of applications on September 8, 2026 Expected Hiring Range: $74,233 - $92,791 Starting Salary Depending on Experience and Qualifications Under general direction of the Assistant Town Manager, manages and coordinates high-priority projects and initiatives that cross departmental lines or require sustained executive attention. The position supervises assigned staff, manages multiple projects simultaneously, and supports implementation of the Town's General Plan, Strategic Plan, and other Council and organizational priorities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensures completion of projects identified through the General Plan, Strategic Plan, specific plans, and new public-facing initiatives.

Manages and coordinates multiple projects at any one time. Prepares advanced-level technical analyses, reports, graphics, and presentations for public hearings and meetings. Completes and manages special projects with minimal oversight, subject to final review upon project completion.

Serves as part of the coordination team for Senior Management Team and Executive Leadership Team retreats and quarterly Senior Management Team meetings. Serves as lead for the Community Academy. Monitors and reports on implementation of the General Plan, Strategic Plan, and other specific plans adopted by the Town.

Supports organization-wide performance management, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Supervises the day-to-day activities of assigned staff and evaluates division operations and activities. Facilitates public meetings and other outreach efforts.

May provide guidance to Town Council, boards, and commissions during public sessions. Participates in federal, state, regional, county, agency, and community meetings related to assigned initiatives. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Town and Department policies and procedures. Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines and follow up on work assignments with minimal supervision.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in public or business Administration or related field. Two (2) years of experience in a professional/administrative capacity.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Five (5) years of professional experience with project management. Experience managing complex projects involving multiple departments, organizations, or stakeholders.

Experience with strategic planning, performance management, organizational improvement, or related work. Strong executive-level writing, presentation, and facilitation skills. Local government or comparable public-sector experience.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Work is primarily performed in an indoor, office environment. Regular and reliable attendance; may work more than forty hours in a workweek without additional compensation to perform assigned job duties, including weekends, evenings, early morning hours, and holidays as required.
