Pay Rate: $39.00 - $41.00 Per hour (Based on Experience)
Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital
Schedule: Mon-Fri 11:00pm-7:00am
Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising all employees on an assigned shift in Sterile Processing (SP) performing duties associated with cleaning, assembly and sterilization of surgical instrumentation, as well as storage and transport of specific instrumentation, surgical sets and patient care equipment while incorporating safety and customer service expectations.
  • Supervises daily operational tasks for Sterile Processing Staff members on a given shift.
  • Oversees the Sterile Processing staff and directs all operations related to decontamination, assembly &Sterilization of surgical instruments
  • Provides quality assurance to sterile processing functions
  • Coordinates with Sterile Processing Educator to provide education to shift-based staff. Oversee a shift employee participation in educational programs
  • Communicates effectively and consistently to superiors, peers, and employees. Routinely provides others with the information they need to do their jobs.
  • Leads Staff and generates commitment to program and project goals.
  • Builds Relationship and Fosters Teamwork
  • Supports a Learning Environment
  • Knows procedure for load recall in the event of a positive biological test.
  • Responds promptly and positively to all customer requests.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • One of the following certifications is required:
    • CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
    • Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
    • IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification
    • CRCST
    • CBSPD certification
  • One of the following certifications is also required:
    • CER (Certified Endoscope Reprocessor)
    • CFER (Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor)
    • CHL (Certified Healthcare Leader)
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with a college degree - or - 8 years of experience without a college degree.; Cart picking experience preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated competence in instrument set assembly and sterilization across multiple specialties.
