VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS - EL SEGUNDO, CA
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President (VP), Operations to lead our manufacturing operations, supply chain, facilities, program management, and IT functions. The VP, Operations will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and effective execution of our production processes, meeting quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operations Management:
    • Direct and coordinate all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and capacity management.
    • Drive process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
    • Implement best practices in lean manufacturing and operational excellence to streamline workflows and maximize resource utilization.
  • Supply Chain Management Leadership:
    • Direct strategic sourcing strategies to ensure a robust and reliable supply chain.
    • Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
    • Monitor supply chain performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to optimize efficiency and minimize risk.
  • Production Planning and Execution:
    • Develop comprehensive production plans aligned with company objectives and customer requirements.
    • Monitor production progress and performance indicators to identify bottlenecks and proactively address production challenges.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of products while meeting quality and cost targets.
  • Facilities, IT & Program Management:
    • Own facilities, site strategy, and capital spend, from space planning and maintenance to buildouts that scale with production.
    • Lead program management, delivering on schedule and on budget with clear cross-functional accountability.
    • Direct IT strategy and infrastructure, including ERP/MRP and business systems, end-user support, and data security.
  • Team Leadership & Compliance:
    • Lead and develop the production organization, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
    • Ensure compliance with aerospace regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Champion programs that improve employee safety, well-being, and job satisfaction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing, operations, or supply chain management, including 5+ years at the director level or above.
  • Aerospace, Automotive, or similar industry experience in a technical field, with working knowledge of relevant processes, materials, and technologies.
  • Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills, with a demonstrated record of driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build durable relationships across internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams toward ambitious goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced degree (MBA, or MS in engineering or a related field).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement credentials.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience with fixed-base operations (FBO) or MRO environments.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing setting.
