Member of Technical Staff - Smart Contract

Job description

Who You Are:

You'll own the contract and program layer of systems that real institutions depend on - tokenized funds, staking and validator infrastructure, collateral and liquidity products, and the compliance primitives that make them usable inside regulated workflows.

This is a builder role with a research dimension. You'll move between protocol-level design work and shipping production contracts that clear institutional audit, security, and operational bars. You own your work end-to-end: spec, contracts, tests, deployment tooling, monitoring, runbooks, and the off-chain integrations that make contracts operable in production.

What You'll Do:

Design and ship on-chain systems

  • Design, implement, and ship smart contracts and on-chain programs across EVM and Solana for tokenized funds, staking systems, and capital markets primitives.
  • Own contract-level architecture decisions: upgrade paths, access control, transfer restrictions, oracle integration, fee and accounting logic, and failure modes.
  • Work end-to-end on each system - from spec through to deployment tooling, monitoring, runbooks, and the off-chain integrations that make contracts operable in production.

Build for regulation institutions

  • Build the compliance and control surfaces that let regulated institutions actually use these systems - KYC/AML enforcement at the protocol layer, role-based access, investor-class restrictions, and auditable mint/burn/transfer flows.
  • Translate ambiguous product or regulatory requirements into concrete contract designs without heavy process.

Own security and rigor

  • Drive the security posture of what you ship - threat modelling, invariant and fuzz testing, internal review, and working with external auditors.
  • Contribute to technical research that shapes the next generation of Edge's on-chain products

What We're Looking For:

  • 4+ years of production engineering experience, with substantial time spent shipping smart contracts or on-chain programs that handle real value.
  • Deep fluency in at least one of Solidity (Foundry/Hardhat, EVM internals, upgrade patterns) or Solana programs (Rust, Anchor, Token-2022, SPL); credible working knowledge of the other, or a clear track record of picking up new chain ecosystems quickly.
  • Strong instincts for smart contract security - you've thought hard about reentrancy, oracle manipulation, access control, and the failure modes specific to your stack, and you write code that reflects it.
  • Comfort owning systems end-to-end, including the off-chain pieces that production contracts depend on.
  • Ability to operate in a high-autonomy environment.
  • High agency, low ego. You own your work end-to-end and hold yourself accountable for quality.

Bonus Points:ย

  • Experience with tokenized assets, regulated financial products, or institutional DeFi.
  • Familiarity with tokenized vault standards (ERC-4626, ERC-7540 for asynchronous deposit/redemption flows) and Token-2022 extensions such as transfer hooks.
  • Background in capital markets, custody, or staking infrastructure.
  • Prior work that has been through formal audit.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive base salary and discretionary bonus
  • Hybrid/Flexible Working Arrangementsย
  • Flexible Time Off (paid)
  • 3% 401(k) company contribution
  • Company-paid health and protective benefits for employees, partners, and other dependents
  • Generous paid Parental Leave
  • Competitive family planning benefits for US employeesย
  • Opportunities to learn about the Crypto industry
  • Smart, entrepreneurial, and fun colleagues
  • Free daily snacks and weekly breakfasts/lunchesย
  • Employee Resource Groups
  • Free coaching and counseling sessions through Headspace
