Description

The IT Projects & Support Specialist is the primary point of contact for external IT vendors and provides hands-on technical support across multiple company locations, including remote sites such as the Bahamas. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, hardware support, user assistance, and coordinating IT projects under leadership guidance. The Specialist will maintain IT asset inventories, track support tickets, and assist with onboarding/offboarding and procurement activities to ensure efficient and reliable IT services. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide end-user support during system outages or transitions, including communication, coordination, and hands-on troubleshooting. 
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points) and software. 
  • Monitor and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), internet connectivity, and VPN services. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison with third-party IT vendors for timely issue resolution and service coordination. 
  • Submit, track, and manage help desk tickets, escalating complex issues appropriately. 
  • Provide hardware troubleshooting for computers, printers, Wi-Fi, and other equipment. 
  • Perform on-site technical support, including hardware installations, disassembly, and setup. 
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and ensure proper documentation of equipment and system configurations. 
  • Retrieve and manage requests for surveillance camera footage, ensuring documentation and compliance with policies. 
  • Support basic software updates, patches, and routine system maintenance. 
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, including device provisioning, access setup, and account deactivation. 
  • Coordinate and track hardware procurement, including ordering, receiving shipments, and inventory reconciliation. 
  • Provide end-user training and support on software tools and IT systems as needed. 
  • Assist with routine system audits and compliance checks. 
  • Participate in IT projects as assigned by leadership, supporting implementation, and coordination. 
  • Travel occasionally to support remote office sites, including the Bahamas, ensuring consistent IT service delivery. 

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related field 
  • 2-5 years of experience in IT support, IT management, or a related field is required. 
  • Strong technical skills in hardware troubleshooting, network basics, and peripheral device support. 
  • Comfortable working independently across multiple geographic sites, including occasional travel 
  • Certifications required CompTIA A+ Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA). 
  • Proficiency with help desk ticketing systems and IT asset management tools. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to travel as needed between South Florida and the Bahamas. 
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of the words, rules of composition and grammar is required. 
  • Has strong analytical thinking and creativity in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. 
  • Proficiency in procurement software, Google Suite, & Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
