Freedom Village has been serving seniors in South Orange County since 1987. Our beautiful campus includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing. We are proud of our long-standing, compassionate team and are seeking individuals who are passionate about making a difference.
Our 52-bed Skilled Nursing community in Lake Forest is seeking a Director of Staff Development & Infection Preventionist to lead education, training, and infection control programs.
Position Summary
The DSD/IP plans and implements staff orientation, ongoing education, and infection prevention programs in compliance with State and Federal regulations. This role also provides leadership and oversight of CNAs to ensure high-quality, resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead staff orientation, in-service education, and skills competency training
- Oversee infection prevention and control program, including compliance and staff training
- Maintain staff licenses, certifications, and training records
- Ensure compliance with Title 22 and regulatory requirements
- Supervise and support CNA staff, including scheduling, performance monitoring, coaching, and evaluations
- Promote quality care, dignity, and resident rights
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Qualifications
- CA LVN license required (RN preferred)
- Certified Infection Preventionist
- 4+ years of staff development or related experience
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of skilled nursing regulations and survey readiness
- Passion for working with seniors and team development
Salary
$95,000 - $105,000 annually, based on experience
Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- May require occasional weekend or NOC shift visits to conduct staff training and in-services
