Center Director – Early Childhood Education (Church Based Program)

Location: Baltimore, MD 

Compensation: Negotiable (DOE, MSDE Director Qualified)

About Us

St. Nicholas’ Bilingual Early Education Center (BEEC) is a mission driven early childhood program operating within the ministry of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Baltimore. We serve families in our community by providing a nurturing, faith aligned, developmentally appropriate environment where children can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. We are seeking a passionate, experienced Center Director to lead our program with excellence, integrity, and heart.

Position Summary

The Center Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and daily operations of the early education center. This includes ensuring compliance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) licensing requirements, supporting staff development, maintaining strong family relationships, and upholding the mission and values of the church.

The ideal candidate is a strong administrator, an encouraging leader, and someone who thrives in a faith based, community centered environment.

Required Qualifications

• Must meet MSDE Director Qualification requirements (45hour administrative training + 90hour preschool certification or equivalent)

• Minimum 3 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role

• Strong understanding of licensing, compliance, and early childhood best practices

• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

• Commitment to the mission and values of a faith based organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field

• Experience working in a church based or nonprofit early education setting

• Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Greek) is a plus
