Job description

Job Title: SRM Assembly Engineer I

Location: Luling, TX

Position Summary

The SRM Assembly Engineer I supports the development and production of solid rocket motor (SRM) hardware and subassemblies. This role works closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to develop repeatable, safe, and efficient manufacturing processes while supporting production execution.

The engineer will assist in transitioning new products from development into production by developing manufacturing methods, work instructions, tooling, and process documentation while ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements.

What You Will Do

ยท Support safe manufacturing and assembly operations in energetic processing environments.

ยท Develop manufacturing processes and assembly methods for SRM hardware and subassemblies.

ยท Create and maintain Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs), SOPs, visual work instructions, and process documentation.

ยท Assist in creating Bills of Material (BOMs), routers, manufacturing plans, and production travelers.

ยท Support Design Engineering during Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews.

ยท Assist in tooling, fixture, cart, and assembly aid design.

ยท Support production readiness activities including first article builds, prototype builds, LRIP, and production.

ยท Troubleshoot manufacturing issues on the production floor.

ยท Collect production data to identify process improvements.

ยท Support Configuration Management by ensuring released documentation matches production.

ยท Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.

ยท Ensure objective evidence is captured to satisfy customer and regulatory requirements.

ยท Support Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), production risk assessments, and manufacturing readiness reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

ยท Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.

ยท 0โ€“2 years of manufacturing or aerospace experience.

ยท Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly experience.

ยท Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, CAD models, and technical documentation.

ยท Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

ยท Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

ยท Ability to work in explosive or hazardous manufacturing environments.

ยท U.S. Person required.
