Job Summary:

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and energetic Senior Commodity Manager with a proven track record of MRO/Indirect/Plastics/Packaging category management and cost savings, with a strong focus on EBITDA growth. This role requires an individual with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in global sourcing with a spend responsibility of at least $50 million. The Senior Commodity Manager will play a vital role in managing these critical commodities to drive cost productivity, innovation, risk mitigation, inflation avoidance, new product development, and supply chain resiliency.

The Senior Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies.

This position requires regular engagement with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and domestic and global suppliers.

. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Sourcing Leadership:
    • Design and implement multi-year commodity strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
    • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain through multi-sourcing.
    • Establish strategic supplier relationships to drive innovation, revenue, and competitive advantage.
  2. Commodity Management:
    • Own and manage $50M+ spend across MRO, Indirect, Plastics, and Packaging.
    • Oversee the procurement of critical commodities, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance.
    • Be the subject-matter expert: MRO, Indirect, Plastics, and Packaging.
  3. Spend Management:
    • Analyze spend data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and TCO.
    • Seek opportunities to reduce the supply base for optimal spend leverage.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with key suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  4. Supplier Development and Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBR) with key suppliers.
    • Drive supplier development programs to support business growth.
  5. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, engineering, and product development teams, to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
    • Lead cross-functional teams in strategic business initiatives.
    • Conduct ideation sessions across business units for funnel-savings building.
  6. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide peer-to-peer leadership.
    • Coach and collaborate with plant purchasing personnel (buyers).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or business.
  • Professional certification(s): CPIM, CPM, CSCP, CPSM, or CSCM.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in MRO/Indirect, Plastics, and/or Packaging with a proven record in managing a spend responsibility of at least $50 million.
  • Experience across multiple industries with an understanding of sourcing best practices.
  • Applicable experience with eRFx platforms (e.g., Krinati, Coupa, or Ariba Sourcing) involving eRFP’s and eAuctions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi-year commodity strategies that drive cost savings and inflation avoidance.
  • Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software and ERP systems. Includes but not limited to Tableau, Click Up, Power BI, and NetSuite.
  • Able to travel a minimum of 20% domestically and occasionally outside of the US.
  • Nice-to-have (but not a requirement): Knowledge of P2P (procure-to-pay) and its function within ERP systems; preferably NetSuite.
