POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Global Commodity Programs & Advanced Sourcing is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and executing global supply chain strategies that drive agility, cost-efficiency, innovation, and operational excellence. This leader will champion high impact transformation initiatives, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and enable sustainable growth in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute global supply chain strategies aligned with business growth, operational scalability, and corporate objectives across all manufacturing sites.
• Transformation & Innovation: Lead high-impact transformation programs to optimize end-to-end supply chain processes, including, advanced sourcing and program management. Identify and implement opportunities for innovation, risk mitigation, and cost optimization to achieve best-in-class performance.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., geopolitical, material shortages) and develop robust contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
• Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence frameworks. Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and innovation within the supply chain organization.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Lead cross-functional projects and collaborate with internal and external partners, including senior leaders, to ensure alignment and execution of strategic initiatives.
• Sustainability & DEI: Promote sustainable supply chain practices and foster an inclusive, diverse, and high-performing team culture.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Location: Fort Collins, Colorado.
• Environment: Works in a standard office environment and uses office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, etc.). Travel required approximately 25% of time both domestic and international.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain transformation within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven success in leading global initiatives and managing complex, matrixed organizations.
• Strong expertise in Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt or equivalent), digital supply chain tools (e.g., SAP S4/R3, Tableau, Power BI) or other operational excellence tools. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop diverse teams, coach, and mentor staff, and drive organizational change.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and program management skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills at all organizational levels.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 per year.
