Department Summary
The Lundquist College of Business is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the highest accreditation standard for business schools internationally. Lundquist offers both undergraduate and graduate level education in business on the University of Oregon's main campus in Eugene, OR, as well as two graduate business degree programs in Portland, OR. These include the Sports Product Management (SPM) program and the Oregon Executive Master's of Business Administration (OEMBA), which together are referred to as Lundquist Portland Programs.
The Sport Product Management program offers an18th month MS degrees in Portland. This program brings the sports and outdoor industry and students together. The industry's top talent educates future leaders through experiential education grounded in innovation, sustainability, and global business perspective. Educators in SPM bring a combination of education and extensive industry experience to the program. This program is cohort-based with students assigned to creation teams with responsibility for briefing, creating, and taking to market a sport or outdoor product. The program covers the entire product creation process with courses in branding, consumer insights, human physiology, design thinking, product development, footwear and apparel-making lab, sourcing, manufacturing, and a go-to-market process. The three pillars of the program are global, sustainability, and innovation with elements of each included in the courses.
Position Summary
The Lundquist College of Business, Sports Product Management Program, maintains a pool of candidates interested in filling Pro Tempore (Pro Tem) Instructor positions as needs arise. Pro Tem Instructor positions are limited-duration appointments, potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Pro tempore faculty work under the supervision of the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and/or the requisite department head.
All positions are subject to funding. Salary is based on qualifications and rank.
The Sports Product Management Program seeks applicants in the following areas:
Sports and Outdoor Product Branding; Sports and Outdoor Product Design; Sports and Outdoor Product Development; Sports and Outdoor Supply Chain Operations, Digital, Merchandising, Marketing Strategy, Go- To-Market, Industry Projects, CAPstones, Consumer Insights, Global Business, Sourcing and other business-related topics.
Minimum Requirements
• Master's degree in a relevant field
A bachelor's degree with significant professional experience may be substituted in rare circumstances.
Professional Competencies
• Commitment to quality graduate instruction, service to students, and adding value to the college
• Commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
