LUG Sports is hiring Hockey Operations Staff for our upcoming season!
We are currently looking to fill two important game-night roles within our hockey leagues: Timekeeper and Game Day Staff. These positions work together to ensure games run smoothly and players have a great experience every night.
Both roles are ideal for outgoing, reliable individuals who love hockey and want to be part of the game-day atmosphere.
TIMEKEEPER RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Sport Operations, the Timekeeper is responsible for managing the score clock and recording all in-game statistics.
Responsibilities Include:
โ€ข Operating the score clock throughout games
โ€ข Recording all game statistics including:
โ€ข Goals
โ€ข Assists
โ€ข Points
โ€ข Penalties
โ€ข Saves
โ€ข Game Misconducts
โ€ข Final Scores
โ€ข Uploading all scores and statistics to the LUG website
โ€ข Playing music during all games (equipment provided)
โ€ข Monitoring game activity and supporting overall game flow
Qualifications & Skills:
โ€ข Knowledge of hockey rules
โ€ข Previous timekeeping experience is an asset (not required)
โ€ข Strong attention to detail
โ€ข Data entry and processing skills
โ€ข Customer service experience is an asset
GAME DAY STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Sport Operations, the Game Day Staff member helps oversee league operations on-site and acts as a liaison between players, referees, arena staff, and LUG Management.
Pre-Game Responsibilities:
โ€ข Arrive 15-20 minutes before scheduled games
โ€ข Check dressing room assignments to ensure accuracy
โ€ข Introduce yourself to arena staff as the on-site LUG representative
โ€ข Ensure referees and timekeepers have arrived and are prepared
โ€ข Help captains confirm roster and jersey number accuracy for stat tracking
Game-Time Responsibilities:
โ€ข Observe games and monitor league operations
โ€ข Assist with any issues or questions from players or officials
โ€ข Post social media content including highlights, interviews, and team photos
โ€ข Report any incidents including:
โ€ข Fights or altercations
โ€ข Intoxicated behaviour
โ€ข Abuse of officials or staff
โ€ข Racist or discriminatory behaviour
โ€ข Report any alcohol found in dressing rooms or on benches
Post-Game Responsibilities:
โ€ข Submit all required reports immediately following games
โ€ข Communicate any major issues or incidents to LUG Management
Qualifications & Skills:
โ€ข Knowledge of hockey
โ€ข Strong organization and communication skills
โ€ข Attention to detail
โ€ข Access to reliable transportation preferred
