JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Event Management is responsible for leading the planning and execution of corporate events at Arrowhead Stadium. This position provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across client relations, venue operations, hospitality, and event planning. The role will ensure exceptional event experiences while maximizing operational efficiency and client satisfaction.ย 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Directs the planning and execution of the corporate event business at Arrowhead Stadium.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with internal stakeholders, clients, partners and vendors.
  • Manage the stadium and sports complex event calendar to ensure efficient scheduling and resource utilization.
  • Establish and implement client service standards that promote exceptional customer experiences.
  • Develop a hospitality-first event culture, ensuring every touchpoint - from arrival through post event recap- reflects a best-in-class experience standard.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement in client satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports; oversee hiring, training, performance management, and employee development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and service excellence.
  • Manage processes of event settlement including invoicing, expense allocation and payment tracking.
  • Partner with the Director of Event Sales and Director of Venue Programming to drive strategic planning initiatives, venue enhancements, and business growth opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with internal departments and external service providers, including food and beverage partners, security contractors, equipment providers, and other event vendors.
  • Evaluate departmental needs to include equipment, materials and supplies required to support event operations.
  • Interpret and apply all relevant federal, state and local regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance requirements, fire and life safety regulations, building codes, and venue policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Perform light office duties and administrative activities.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to navigate indoor and outdoor event environments in varying weather conditions.

MINIUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in event planning, event management, venue operations, hospitality or related fields within a stadium, arena, hotel, convention center or public assembly facility setting.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or better from an accredited college/university.ย 
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP), or equivalent hospitality certification preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Experience with Momentus Event Management Software or similar event management platforms preferred.
    • Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or comparable venue design software preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience with budget preparation and control.
  • Exercise logic, creativity, discretion, and independent judgement in determining how to manage events.
  • Develop practical and effective solutions under pressure.
