Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Technical Writer for our client. This job involves creating technical training workbooks and documentation for use by the customer support training team and other end users. Responsibilities include working with source machine documentation, collaborating with subject matter experts, and developing clear, accurate, and well-organized technical materials that support training, sales, and customer satisfaction.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Main duty is the creation of technical training workbooks and other documentation for use by the customer support training team and other end users.
  • This requires using source documentation that comes with the machines and working cooperatively with instructors and other SMEs in terms of identifying content and detail required in the documentation.
  • The efforts of the Technical Documentation Specialist will have a direct impact on training, product messaging, sales and end user acceptance of the products.
  • Interact with the technical training and development teams to create operations, maintenance, and other training workbooks, as well as machine specifications, descriptions, and operational documentation.
  • Interact with Customer Support to create detailed documentation related to product installation, configuration, and maintenance.
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Must demonstrate the ability to proficiently use Microsoft Word and Power Point products as well as the ability to produce graphics for documents.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to write concise, clear prose in technical documentation.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain documents in a versioned archive system and assist with document distribution.
  • Must possess the ability to work cooperatively with many of the groups at the company.
  • BA or BS degree with a minimum of two years’ work experience writing technical documentation.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Word and Power Point products as well as ability to use graphic editing software.
  • Experience with a document archival system
  • Experience with FrameMaker or other adobe editing software
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
