Overview

LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (EO/IR 2026-25531):

Bowhead seeks a Logistician uniquely qualified Logistician with a ย Technical Writing skillset to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane Division (NSWC-Crane).ย  The position will provide Life Cycle Logistics support for current Electro-Optic Infrared (EO/IR) for research and development projects managed by the Electro-Optic Technology Division (EOTD). The individual would provide project management support including, but not limited to, coordination of project operations, management records, schedules, analytical support; deliverables tracking; task management; and support the development of milestones and objectives for current projects.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:ย 

  • Material management and tracking., including managing documentation for ordering and incoming material, and general organization of lab inventory.
  • Provide inventory and shipping/receiving logistics support projects and field test events
  • Work with other component/program logisticians to receive, issue, transfer, or other functions for assets requiring dual reporting or are managed by other programs and services.
  • Conduct research, as required and prepare documentation, ensuring new material being procured or received has been properly cataloged as required to comply with ERP and OM&S requirements.
  • Work with lab engineers and technicians to develop lab technical manuals, training manuals, and standard operating procedures for prototypes undergoing CONOP development in a shifting portfolio standard, not Navy or Crane doctrine.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Hazard Analysis via NSWC Crane offered training
  • Obtain and maintain certification in Non-Ordnance SOP Writing via NSWC Crane offered training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelors' Degree with one (1) to five (5) years' experience
  • Along with logistics experience, the ability to work with others in writing technical documents to include standard operating procedures (SOP) and test plans, with other instructional and guidance documentation being a plus.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Good interpersonal skills and judgment with the ability to work well alone or as part of a team

ย Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

Expected travel is four (4) times annually for periods of two (2) weeks each event ย 

ย SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level.ย  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
